ClipDock Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 17, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how ClipDock ("ClipDock", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the ClipDock mobile application, related paid features, and support services. It does not apply to third-party websites, apps, payment systems, or services that are not controlled by us.
2. Information We Handle
Clipboard and Clip Content
- ClipDock may store text, links, images, files, notes, titles, tags, favorites, folders, or other clip content that you add, paste, import, create, or save in the app.
- This content is primarily stored on your device so the app can provide clipboard history, organization, search, pinning, copying, and related clip-management features.
- ClipDock does not sell your clip content. You should avoid saving passwords, authentication codes, private keys, payment information, or other sensitive material unless you understand the risks of storing it in any clipboard tool.
App, Device, and Usage Data
- We may process basic technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, language, feature usage, performance data, and crash logs.
- This information is used to maintain the app, diagnose issues, improve performance, understand feature quality, and provide customer support.
Purchase and Subscription Data
- Paid plans and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
- We may receive non-financial purchase status information from Apple, such as whether a subscription or lifetime purchase is active, expired, cancelled, refunded, or restored.
- We do not receive or store your full payment card number, bank details, or Apple ID password.
Support Communications
- If you contact us, we may receive your email address, message content, screenshots, device/app details you choose to provide, and any other information included in your request.
- Support information is used only to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, improve ClipDock, and keep records of support history where reasonably necessary.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide core ClipDock features, including saving, organizing, searching, copying, editing, and managing clips.
- To unlock, verify, restore, and manage paid features.
- To maintain app reliability, fix bugs, analyze crashes, and improve usability.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important service, policy, or product updates.
- To prevent abuse, protect users, comply with law, and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. Local Storage, Sync, and Backups
- Clip content is generally stored locally on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, sync, or otherwise send it outside the app.
- If you use Apple services such as iCloud, iCloud Backup, App Store purchases, or device backup/restore, Apple may process related data according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
- Deleting the app may remove locally stored data from the device. Content included in device backups, exported files, shared destinations, or third-party services may remain outside ClipDock's control.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in the following situations:
- Apple: to process in-app purchases, subscriptions, refunds, restoration, App Store distribution, crash diagnostics, and platform services.
- Service providers: vendors who help us provide analytics, diagnostics, email, hosting, or support services, if such services are used.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, legal process, or necessary to protect rights, safety, security, and prevent abuse.
- With your action or consent: when you export, copy, share, sync, upload, or send clip content to another app, device, person, or service.
6. Data Retention
- Clip content stored locally remains until you delete it, clear app data, uninstall ClipDock, or remove it through system settings or backups.
- Purchase status may be retained as long as needed to provide paid access, restore purchases, resolve billing questions, and comply with App Store requirements.
- Support emails may be retained for a reasonable period so we can respond to follow-up questions and maintain service records.
- Diagnostic and analytics data, if collected, is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for app maintenance and improvement.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by ClipDock. However, no app, device, storage system, network, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, passcode, biometric authentication, and backups secure.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You can view, edit, copy, export, or delete clip content inside the app where those controls are available.
- You can manage app permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
- You can contact us to request help with privacy questions, support history, or account-related purchase status handled by the app.
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information.
9. Children's Privacy
ClipDock is not intended for children under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International Use
ClipDock may be used in different countries and regions. Information may be processed where you live, where our service providers operate, or where Apple provides platform services. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide notice in the app or through other appropriate means. Continued use of ClipDock after an update means you accept the revised policy.
